Everyone has heard by now that the IPCC report has declared it “…unequivocal that human influence has warmed the atmosphere…” along with their sobering outlook on future climate activities. With U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres calling it “a code red for humanity”, it is even more incumbent on us to do something about it now.

The only way to limit warming to 1.5 degree Celsius is to reduce our carbon emissions dramatically. By doing so, we can have a direct influence on the number of and severity of weather and climate extremes, whether it be droughts, storms, heatwaves or flooding.

Arc is a technology platform which allows projects teams – groups managing spaces, buildings, communities, and cities -- to measure, track and improve real world performance. Arc focuses on core issues underlying the climate crisis: energy, emissions, water, waste, transportation, and human experience. Arc provides scores and key performance measures to evaluate where an asset stands today and how it can support a rapid transition to a low-carbon economy.

Arc provides practical, accessible tools that allow any project, anywhere to track, measure, and score performance for free -- what we call “Arc for All”. This vision goes beyond technology, it reflects our deep commitment to a world where everyone has access to green buildings, and green buildings are defined by their contributions to climate solutions.

Arc power users can unlock premium tools to analyze performance, including quantifying social impacts, economic benefits, and, critically, the physical impacts of changing climate conditions. Arc does this by integrating best-in-class partners to streamline the flow of data and access innovative analytical tools. Of course, we do all this while also giving every project a pathway to LEED certification.

The new IPCC assessment is clear: We must act now to dramatically reduce the drivers of climate change and prepare for the consequences. Arc provides the tools project teams need to get started: measure performance, track improvement, benchmark, and more.
